Health as defined by the World Health Organisation (WHO) is a state of complete Physical Mental and Social Wellbeing and not only the absence of disease and or infirmity.
The achievement of the above definition involves a comprehensive approach with adequate knowledge of health care delivery services in low-income countries as well as in the westernised countries.
It is in this regard that the Senessie Healthcare Delivery Services has been set.
It will be an example of an NGO founded and running which is the Afro-European Medical and Research Network – www.aemrnetwork.ch.
The Company is a single owned one and run by Assoc. Prof. Dr. med. Dr. Charles Senessie.
Prof. Dr. med Dr. Charles Senessie is a medical doctor and Associate Professor with MSc in Dermatology from UK, PhD in Health Sciences with a focus on International Health Research and Education from USA.
His dissertation topic in HIV/AIDS was:
“Prevalence of Single Nucleotide Polymorphism of
Cytochrome P450 enzyme (CYP3A4, CYP2B6, CYP2C8 and CYP2D6) in
Treatment Experienced HIV Patients in Sierra Leone”Currently he is concluding a second PhD in Public Health with a major in Epidemiology.
Prof. Senessie has worked as a physician in Sierra Leone, private practitioner in Switzerland and as physician for the Swiss Federal Government Agency (Swissmedic), in the regulation of clinical trials both locally and internationally.
He has lectured Dermatology at the Postgraduate level at the Faculty of Life Sciences and Education, University of South Wales, UK, and at the Department of Internal Medicine, College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, University of Sierra Leone.
He has also worked as a WHO Consultant in Geneva on various projects, including addressing the acute shortage of health workers in low and middle-income countries and knowledge centers in Africa.
Prof. Senessie is the founder and President of the United Nations ECOSOC accredited Afro-European Medical and Research Network (AEMRN), which brings together Diaspora health practitioners around the world for the Diaspora Medical Mission with mobile clinics in sub-Saharan African countries.
He is also the CEO of Senessie Healthcare Delivery Services.
He is President of the African AIDS Research Network, West and Central Africa
Prof. Senessie has received several awards including:
– Among the top 100 Health Care Leaders globally at the 2019 USA International Forum on Advancements in Healthcare
– Featured in the book “The Most Influential Contemporary African Diaspora Leaders” alongside former President Barack Obama, Rev. Jesse Jackson
– Forum of Leaders in Switzerland and others
– Winner of the 2020/2021 Switzerland Prestige Awards for the NGO sector
– Recipient of the 2023 Visionary Leadership Award in the Health Sector from the Health 2.0 Organizations in the USA.
In 2023, he was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Health 1 by His Excellency Retired Brigadier Dr. Julius Maada Bio, the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
